Visitor Centre Team Member
Responsible for greeting visitors and handling retail sales in our Visitor Centre shop based at the distillery to support our distillery tours. The Visitor Centre is our first point of arrival for customers, so the ideal candidate needs to be personable and provide a warm welcome for our visitors.
Duties

Welcoming customers to the Distillery

Assisting customers with their purchases (knowledgably advising on product range, providing tasting samples etc)

Handling of retail sales in shop through EPOS system (cash and card transactions)

Ensuring compliance with licencing conditions (awareness of licensed hours, complying with challenge 25 policy etc)

Ensuring Visitor Centre is clean, tidy and shelves are stocked to create a presentable and welcoming environment for customers

Assisting with making up gifting ranges for sale in the shop and online

Maintaining stock control

Responsible for setup of Visitor Centre and Distillery for tours to support the Distillery Hosts

Admin duties associated with the shop and tours – responding to tour enquiry emails, creating manual bookings for private tours, managing the tours and events calendar, responding to online reviews

Operating online order system - processing and packaging orders for courier and postal delivery

Managing click & collect orders

Opening/ closing up the Visitor Centre

Assisting the events teams – occasionally assisting set up stands, preparing kit to go with the team to events, managing stock control

Supporting the rest of the Ogilvy team – may be required to assist with bottling/ labelling/ deliveries etc during busy periods

Depending on the candidate, the role may also include hosting tours of our distillery. Full training will be provided for this.
Experience/ Training
Previous retail/ distillery tours experience would be beneficial. Full training including mandatory alcohol licensing training will be provided.
A can-do attitude and ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential. We are a small team who take our vodka seriously but enjoy a bit of fun along the way too!
Due to the nature of our location, a driving licence and access to own car is essential.
Must be 18+ to due to licensing for sales of alcohol.
Details
Part time: 20 hours per week with opportunity for additional hours
Core days: Monday, Friday, and Saturday. Opportunity for additional seasonal hours on other days
Hourly rate: £11 per hour
Pension: NEST pension provided
Holidays: 30 days pro-rated to part time hours (16 days)
